On 23 February 2010, the Singapore Clubs are celebrating the RI World Understanding & Peace Day at Orchard Hotel. I strongly encourage our club members to support this event and to donate generously to the Polio-Plus fund. Let us work together and pledge a PHF for our Rotary E-Club. Your contribution to Polio-Plus will help Rotary to raise US$200 million to match US$355 million in challenge grants received from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The resulting US$555 million will directly support immunization campaigns in developing countries, where polio continues to infect and paralyze children, robbing them of their futures and compounding the hardships faced by their families. As long as polio threatens even one child anywhere in the world, children everywhere remain at risk. The stakes are that high indeed. I am pleased to report that we supported Racket Sports Asia Tennis Championships 2010 on 30 January 2010 in their charity event to raise the fund for the Roslin Orphanage based in Kupang, West Timor. The total amount raised was S$2000 including the amount pledged by the organiser. For the next physical meeting on 11 February 2010, we are going to usher in the Year of the Tiger with a roar and potluck dinner. Our PR Chair, Rtn Gracy Yap will present a very interesting numerology seminar on "Forecast 2010. Your Numbers for Good Fortune and Luck". Let her leads you to unlock the keys to understanding how you can maximise your own luck using numbers and avoid unfortunate numbers and make this a prosperous Tiger year for you.
