The full programmes for PETS, DA & Spouses is still work-in-progress and is expected to be finalised by the third week of this month. The final programmes will be posted on the District Website for the reference of Rotarians.
Please note that the District Assembly is a training seminar for all Club Officers and PETS is a compulsory training seminar for all PEs. I would like to urge Clubs to encourage all their Officers to attend the DA as the Organising Committee and District Training Committee has put in many long hours to ensure the success of the event.
Regards, Lee Kong Hwee District Trainer RY 2010 - 2011
Those of you who want to pay your DA registration fees, please bank your payment into the account below and fax/email me your registration forms and bank in slips. Fax no, 07-6633061.
Please attend the District Assembly from 16-18 April 2010 in JB. Attached is the registration form for your reference. I would strongly encourage the incoming BOD to attend.
On behalf of Rotary Club of Puteri Lagoon, I welcome you to participate in the 20th Rotary International District Assembly.
The training programme had not been passed to me for circulation yet and therefore could not elaborate further on it. But I understand from PP Lee Kong Hwee that he had formulated the best possible training for all club officers. As everyone is new, in their position (unless CLP is practise) it will be the best for President Elect to persuade his officers to attend for training to facilitate his year in office. Office bearer must know their obligation in order for the club to function effectively. If you're a veteran, we still welcome you for the fellowship and refreshing training for I understand that this training is different. For your information, we had allocated 4 rooms each day for PETS Training and 8 rooms for officers training on Saturday.
We will be having a "house of friendship" as usual for Rotarian and spouse to unwind and relax. There will be finger food for those who missed the tea break or meals, beverages will be served at all times inclusive of wine. Rest assured that the best is being provided.
We are working hard in these area of advertisement as the registration collection actually does not cover the whole programme. Therefore, we seek your kind generosity and furthermore, you could "kill two birds with one stone" by helping us in the advertisement and in the meantime congratulate DGE Dr. Abraham for his incoming Rotary Term.
I will also update the spouse programme to you later after consultation with Incoming First District Lady Geetha and IPP Jimmy. This programme will be a memorable and enjoyable for those who wish to attend.
It was highlighted to me that the room rates published in the hotel website is the same but on the contrary. On the surface it seem to be the same but if you go further and click on the link for three nights, the price is 220+242+242=704, whereas we negotiated and are able to secure 220 for the entire 3 night (660). club deluxe330, website 363. club suite 418, website 440.
Our rates for DA 2010 are specially negotiated with the hotel for Rotarian and are definitely lower. Booking with us will ensure of the lower rates being charge accordingly. We could easily ask all participant to contact the hotel directly, but somebody in the hotel will definitely missed out something and might overcharge your credit card. One person is ok, what about 50 angry Rotarians? Booking directly (as from our past experience) have more complication, therefore we take it to ourselves to solve it. (When you have complication with the hotel concerned, it is then our responsibility to attend to it.)
With all these exciting events line up for the benefit of gaining knowledge, fellowship and relaxation, we hope you could gather your members to join us and participate in this coming 20th Rotary International District 3310 Assembly from 15 to 18th April 2010.
Looking forward to your support and hope to meet with you soon
Hello, I have not played golf for almost two years. What the heck, I am joining the Golf Fellowship at the District Assembly. Want to join me?
I am also staying at EON. Book online for RM187 (double) without breakfast...
With any event like this... who needs breakfast as there are coffee break at 10am... lunch break... afternoon tea... dinner... and believe me, some are going for supper too (not for the food... really for the fellowship as we have Rotarians from as far as Tawau meeting Singaporeans in Johor Bahru)!!

PE Budi, I understand that you have asked Rtn Mark Hon to represent you at President-Elect Training Seminar (PETS)?
It is important to note the rules of Rotary International are quite explicit - All incoming Presidents MUST attend PETS i.e. it is compulsory.
If he/she cannot attend, the President-Elect needs to seek approval from the incoming District Governor and get his approval that a representative can be sent in his/her place.
I am glad to hear that Rtn Mark Hon has agreed to help out. If so, we need to acknowledge this kind gesture... and our Club members need to know...
Fyi, PP Edmund Chew is a facilitator at both PETS as well as District Assembly.
