EXPERIENCE YOUR BREAKTHROUGH TO PERSONAL EXCELLENCE.
A team of 9 consisting of 2 doctors, 5 paramedics and 2 rotarians, led by President Gunaraj of RC Sentul are leaving tomorrow morning for Colombo. They are taking along with them 40 boxes of medicines and medical equipment. 3 container loads of foodstuffs are already on the way to Colombo and will be received by this team on arrival. The members of Rotary Club of Colombo West are meeting them at the airport and arranging for their onward trip to Killinochi and Trincomalee areas of the North East which is the hardest hit.
Further update from District Governor Lucky Pieris of District 3220 Sri Lanka:
The District has appointed 3 task forces as follows:
1. Emergency Relief 2. Medium Term Assistance 3. Re-Building Communities
Emergency relief is almost coming to an end. They are now concentrating on medium term action like providing water facilities and cooking items to help the displaced be self-sustaining in the interim to more established rehabilitation which is expected to take months to be in place.
Will keep all informed of further developments. Those who wish to donate items in kind or cash, please do contact me.

You and your club members have indeed demonstrated exemplary actions, second to none. It is heartening to note that your club has acted and taken such swift and positive actions for the Tsunami victims.
Syabas also to our dear CDG Dr Ivor, my very good friend Dr Ho Loon Shin, and all the other wonderful Rotarians who have helped so selflessly and willingly, including of course the interactors.
To all of you great people, I salute you in the name of Humanity and Rotary.
It brings tears to my eyes as I write this knowing how you have sacrificed your time, personal resources, and brought about the sincerity of your hearts to demonstrate unconditional love...to your fellow human beings.
I salute you. I truly salute all of you.

The Lions, through Ms Lynette Lim, has asked me to source for empty Bicarbonate Solution plastic containers that are left over in Rotary Dialysis Centres all over the country.
These are excellent water container now that will be sent to the disaster zones.
If you have, please contact me, Dr Ho, at 016 7544353, or Mr Tay at 07-5980822. We will send people to collect them if you could tell us your place. Better still you can help us send to any MAA-Lions Dialysis Centres in your locality. Appreciate any help.
Thank you.

Subject: Re: relief effort - Sorting work at Tuas (Benoi
Road)
Hi Edmund
I am suggesting to Interact Clubs to
focus on cash collection but in case some eventually come up with items
collected from home, we shall not turn them down.
As for the volunteering week from
9am-6pm, I am also informing Rtr Michael Choy to seek volunteers. As
Interactors will be in school by then, I believe they can assist only after 2pm
(after school) so I shall now ask the teachers advisors to advise.
By bcc to teacher advisors, pls
contact Rtn Edmund if you can send volunteers to help sorting between
0900am-0600pm from Mon- Fri. Pls let him know which day and time your
Interactors can be there so he can set up the schedule. This is separate effort
from the Race Course Road sorting work.
One batch of Rto and ITe students came
in this morning to assist.
I still need 8-10 for this week at my place ,
which is no 14 a benoi sector.
Tonight i am meeting another group of ex
reservist and rotarians to discuss
on Maldives and india. We will let you
know where to depo another groups
of volunteers.
bye edmund
chew
yours in rotary service.
