President’s Message for May 2025

Dear Fellow Rotarians and Friends,

We received great news today on 1 May 2025. DGN Dr Senthil Doraisamy, District 3310 Grants Chair, has just advised that the District Grants DDF Committee has approved our application of additional US$5,000.00 DDF for GG2574303 subject to our contribution of a total US$8,350 to TRF Annual Fund by 31 May 2025.

Fellow Rotarians, this is our Gift of Sight Bandung 2025 Global Grant application. I believe we can meet this deadline, if members who have yet to contribute to TRF Annual Fund this year can do so by 15 May 2025. If you need help, AG Vicky Soo, as our TRF Chair, will guide you.

As we step into May, I would like to reflect on the meaningful activities we have shared over the past month. We were privileged to have Rtn Dr Joseph Cheong presented his fascinating research on oracle bone script and its intriguing connections to biblical stories, a session that was both intellectually stimulating and deeply engaging.

Special thanks go to our Vicky Soo for leading the efforts in organizing the charity screening for Project Ray of Hope, scheduled for 5 June at Shaw Theatre at Paya Lebar PLQ Mall. Our goal is to raise S$30,000, and we sincerely hope our members and friends will come forward to support this impactful initiative.

Our ongoing service projects HappyMeals, Rotary Moments at Gladiolus Place and our supports to Gracehaven continue to run smoothly, thanks to the dedication of our members.

Looking ahead, May promises to be just as enriching, with exciting guest speakers lined up for our monthly meetings. We also look forward to reconnecting with many of you at the District Conference in Bali.

Let us continue to serve with purpose and fellowship.
