“Doing Good in the World Begins with Us.”

Dear Fellow Rotarians and Friends,

Special mention must be made of two major activities led by Rotary E-club of 3310 in October.

6 October 2025

Mid-Autumn Mooncake Festival Fellowship Event celebrated on board a traditional Chinese junk Fu Ning attracted a turnout of over a 100. Shout out to Organising Chair Rotarian Oh Hock Chong with PP Vicky Soo as Assistant OC dressed up as Chang Er that evening!

In the words of OC Hock Chong,“ Far from the usual hotel banquets and restaurant settings, this celebration brought creativity, adventure, and cultural charm to our Rotary community. Many of our senior Rotary members shared how deeply moved they were by the atmosphere at sea – surrounded by laughter, music, lanterns, culture and fellowship under the golden moonlight.

We’re also delighted that our first collaboration with the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industries Toastmasters Club (SCCCI) was such a meaningful success. Their members were inspired by Rotary’s spirit of service and friendship – and many young Toastmasters are now eager to learn more about what we do and stand for.”

FRCS Fundraising to support Rotary-SIT Mangrove Conservatory Project. Rotary E-Club of 3310’s unwavering support was seen in PP Ching Kwock Wing’s dedication in going around the Rotary Clubs in Singapore to promote this noteworthy cause on sustainability. Working with Madam Wei Dong, Dong Lee Investment, organiser of the Singapore-China Gala Symphony Concert held on 26 October, 2025 at the Esplanade Concert Hall, donors to this project received tickets to the concert as our appreciation. PP Ching doubled up as an amazing bi-lingual emcee (vocal recordings) for the concert! Together with our Charter President Chew Ban Seng, they took one month for planning and promotion. We witnessed a very good turnout at the Esplanade Concert Hall – around 280 Rotarians, families and friends showed up to lend support and enjoy a musical evening with William Wei, Grammy award-winning maestro Tang Muhai, the Shanghai Nine Trees Philharmonic Orchestra and The Straits Ensemble that’s out of this world. We raised well over S$100,000 (including Tote Board matching) – well done PP Ching!

As we step into November, we celebrate one of the most meaningful aspects of Rotary-The Rotary Foundation. This month reminds us that our small acts of service, when united through the Foundation, have the power to change countless lives across the world.

The Rotary Foundation is more than just a fund—it is the beating heart of Rotary’s mission. Through it, we transform generosity into action, turning donations into clean water, literacy programs, disease prevention, maternal and child health, scholarships, peace initiatives, and sustainable community development. Every dollar we contribute becomes a beacon of hope for someone, somewhere.

Our commitment to the Foundation is a reflection of our belief in a better, fairer, and more peaceful world. Whether we support PolioPlus, Global Grants, or District Projects, we are part of something far greater than ourselves—a network of compassion that reaches every corner of the earth. I’m proud to mention that many of our members have joined Paul Harris Fellow Society and Polio Plus Society to continue giving on an annual basis to do good. Kudos to our passionate and hardworking Rotary Foundation Chair, PP Vicky Soo!

This month, I encourage each member to:
  • Learn more about the impact of the Rotary Foundation.
  • Contribute what you can—because every gift, no matter how small, counts.
  • Share stories of how Rotary has touched lives, both near and far, to inspire your contacts and friends to join our club and the Rotary family.
Together, let us continue to “Create Hope in the World” by fueling the good work of our Foundation. Let our generosity SHINE a light that guides communities toward health, peace, prosperity, and a better future.

Thank you for embodying the true spirit of Rotary-Service Above Self !

Unite For Good,
Dr. (h.c) Gracy Yap
