Dear Rotarians,

It's December! My favourite season of the year. Hope it will be as special for you as it is for me. We are halfway into the Rotary term yet we have already come together to make many good changes as a club. We have vibed up 2 of our monthly meetings, with one turning into a vocational visit to our Rotarian's company at ABB followed by a great dinner fellowship. The other coincides intentionally with our club project, Charity Movie Night – Charlie Angels, where we organized and raised funds towards the building of Rotary Caregiver and Eldercare Center in 2020. Together with FRCS, we raised more than 40k.

We also amped up our joint projects with our dear Rotaract Club, ITE college east. Travelled to Manila together for our international community project, participated in their monthly visits to Lee Ah Mooi Home to spend time with the elderly and in December, we are again coming together to gift joy to the elderly at Peacehaven where we will be organizing warm fuzzy xmas activities for them. Our members also partake in significant projects with other rotary clubs. IPP Richard Ong, has achieved a 30km walkathon organized by RC Novena. PP Ong Chee Wee has also played a big role in the Trans Asian Bicycle Expedition held in November, where he led a team of Rotarian cyclists up to Batu Pahat to meet the 2 Rotarians from India, who have travelled 8000km across many countries, an expedition which started in India and ended in Singapore in the name of Rotary. Wonderful camaraderie indeed.

We have also increased our club membership with the induction of Rotarian Wennie Lee and Rotarian Yoshinori Nishiki and will continue to build our club with good people.

My dear members, I look forward to seeing more of you. Please make time for our club projects if you are in town. We are Rotarians. I believe we make that choice because we want to service our community and for some, to enjoy the fellowship. All projects are painstakingly coordinated and alot of effort is put into the planning and execution. We want to appreciate and support our fellow members. Most importantly, all projects undertaken by our club brings about impact to people's lives. Your little presence will bring joy to at least one person by being there.

Happiness is about giving and sharing. Not about having and accumulating.

I hope more members will contribute your time/talent/treasure to our club and help to grow our vision together.

Have a wonderful December.

Love,

Terissa Rafaelle Tan
