Dear Fellow Rotarians & Friends

As we enter the last quarter of the term, I am delighted by the progress our club has made. PP Ching Kwock Wing successfully moderated World Speech Day 2021 “Humanity at Crossroads: Diversity, Equity, Inclusion”. Special thanks to Organising Chair PP Ching Kwock Wing for a fantastic job. The quality of the speeches from the students of ITE College Central was simply remarkable. We look forward to more cooperation and collaboration under ‘Elevate Rotaract’ and ‘Rotary-Toastmasters Alliance’ in the future.

Special thanks to our Rotarians Chew Ban Seng, Arun Sharma, Richard Ong, and 3 other Toastmasters under ‘Rotary-Toastmasters Alliance’, for coaching and mentoring 22 students (aged 14-17) and 3 Teacher-Advisors in public speaking from SMA Santo Yosef, Pangkalpinang, Indonesia, as they prepared for their presentation at World Speech Day @SJEC event.

We started initial discussions with Spectra Secondary School to lay the foundation for supporting upcoming programs for the youth. Through generous donations of the club members and their friends, we successfully led efforts to raise funds for Rajshahi Cancer Hospital, Bangladesh Lift Installation. We exceeded the target of $5,000; raising $6,614 in total led by Rotarian Richard Ong.

For the food assistance efforts led by Rotarian Cindy Yen, to date, arrangements have already been made for South, South Central Family Services Centre and Food From the Heart non-profit organization to collect dry food stuff and brown rice from our donors’ warehouse. These rations will go to benefit students from low income families and the needy in Singapore. Meanwhile Rotary E-Club 3310 will continue its efforts to look out for more people/community in need of such food assistance.

Spectra Secondary School collected brown rice from PP Edmund and dry foodstuffs from Norman. The school stopped their rice distribution program to 40 poor students after they ran short of funds. So this was a welcome addition to restock their supplies.

Our newest member Rotarian CIndy has introduced two new members Norman and Nicholas to the club. We are excited to meet our newest members in the upcoming April meeting. On behalf of the club we would like to congratulate AG Richard Ong achieving Major Donor Level 1 status.

Sincerely,
Eddie Ho, President
Rotary E-Club of 3310
